Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Fant is dedicated to providing open access to educational and playing opportunities to communities around the world. Dr. Fant himself benefited from the assistance of many people from across the world and feels it is imperative to share this with as many people as possible. Through work with charitable organizations, starting or participating in community efforts Dr. Fant has begun to give back. Dr. Fant’s vision is an all-encompassing studio and community where everyone has a chance to experience high quality education and knowledge.
Dr. Fant’s DEIB work has led to helping many students from Africa, India, South America, and neglected areas of the USA attend school, free lessons, and acquire instruments. This was achieved by providing lessons, organizing fundraisers, offering scholarships, working with suppliers for instruments, and providing school supplies. Through this work he has grown a diverse studio reaching many young artists. BIPOC are underrepresented in classical music settings and Dr. Fant has worked to correct this. Dr. Fant is proud of his student’s growth and success and looks forward to expanding the openness of music and sharing his experiences with as many people as he can.
Music is a field that crosses borders and barriers more than most. Dr. Fant has always been immersed with colleagues of different gender, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, and cultural backgrounds. Commissioning works from various minorities, and diverse programming has helped to close the gap. That is not to say that the mission is accomplished. If you would like to join an open studio that welcomes members from diverse religions, orientations, and backgrounds, please reach out to Dr. Fant. We have a studio that supports each other and is “multi” in every way possible. While performing repertoire from diverse genres and gender, the studio explores ways to help support our community. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is for all and important for the future.
For further information please email Dr. Fant. Never let distance or funds disrupt your dreams. Dr. Fant will always strive to make education accessible to all.
